Let Me Tell You Something for Mac · Last updated 25 October 2026
The short version
The app does not collect, sell or share your data. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Your documents and settings stay on your Mac.
What stays on your Mac
- The text you read, your documents, imported files and Studio projects.
- Your settings, which are stored in the app’s own preferences.
- Audio made with Apple voices or the on-device AI voices, which are generated entirely on your Mac.
- Cloud service API keys you enter, which are stored in your macOS Keychain.
When the app connects to the internet
Only when you ask it to:
- Opening a web page: the app loads the address you enter, like a browser, without keeping cookies or logins, and keeps only the page’s main text.
- Downloading an on-device voice model: the files are downloaded from Hugging Face when you click Download.
- Cloud voices (optional): if you set up a cloud voice service with your own account (for example OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon Polly), the text you choose to read is sent to that service to be spoken. That service’s own privacy policy applies. Nothing is sent to us.
- Purchases: buying or restoring Pro is handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment or personal information.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
